The crown of polish mountains - 28 peaks, almost corresponding to the census of the highest peaks of all Polish mountain ranges. The difference lies in the fact that it was considered to be the highest of these peaks, which at the time of establishment of the Crown led the marked trail.
List of the Crown of Polish mountains was presented by Mark Więckowski and Wojciech Lewandowski in the journal "Poznaj swój kraj" in 1997.
Announcing the idea of the Crown of Polish mountains, editorial "Poznaj swój kraj" meant to relieve the most of popular mountain trails in Poland and popularizing many other great unknown mountain ranges and knowledge of these areas of the country, with their history, nature, geological past and contemporary culture.
Crown of the Polish mountains was formed on the model of the well-known ideas like Seven Summits or 14x8000.
There is some controversy as to the list the Crown of Polish mountains:
1.Lubomir mountain the highest peak of Beskid Makowski, according the some sources shouldn't be counted for the Crown of the Polish mountains, because it includes to Beskid Wyspowy, where the highest peak is Mogielica.
2.Rudawiec mountain 1112 m amsl is on the list as the highest peak of Bialskie Mountains, but higher than it is Podstawna mountain 1117 m amsl, but there does not lead to any official hiking trail.
3.Kowadło mountain 898 m amsl is on list as the highest peak Golden mountains (Góry Złote) , but higher than it is peak Smrek about 1120 m amsl, however it lies on the Czech side.
4.Some believe that Bialskie Mountains are part of the Golden Mountains, so Bialskie Mountains should not at all be placed in the Crown of Polish mountains.
5.Wałbrzyskie Mountains on the list is Chełmiec mountain 851 m amsl, but the precise measurements proved that the higher is Borowa mountain 854 m amsl.
6.Bardzkie Mountains on the list is Kłodzka mountain 765 m amsl, but some people claiming that higher is Szeroka mountain 767 m amsl.

These controversies are irrelevant for the lovers hiking in the mountains, because if someone get to the top of mountain which is 2-3 metres higher or lower, so get to the similar mountain too. So you have to decide which mountain you will choose :)
