Opole

Opole (German: Oppeln, Czech: Opolí) - a city with poviat rights in south-western Poland and the capital of the Opolskie Voivodeship. Situated on the Śląska Lowland by the Odra River. The city has about 128 thousand inhabitants.

Opole is a medium-sized city located in the south of Poland near the border with the Czech Republic and Germany. It covers an area of 96 km2.







Opole is a highly-developed academic center in which every year 32,000 students study at 6 Opole universities. These are: University of Opole, Opole University of Technology, High School of Bogdan Janski, College of Management and Administration, State Medical Vocational School, College of Banking.




In Opole it's worth seeing:

- famous Krakowska street,

-Ignacy Daszyński square,

- fountain "Ceres",

Avenue of Stars Polish Festival of Songs,

-Piastowska's Tower,

-Opole's "Venice",

- and many other beautiful monuments and places.
