Wilanów is a district of the city of Warsaw in Poland. Where is situated historic Wilanów Palace, the "Polish Versailles".
Wilanów was one of the oldest settlements in the Warsaw area. Until the second half of the 17th century, the name Milanów was used.
After the Second World War, in 1945, the entire palace and garden complex of Wilanów became the property of the Polish state, becoming a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw, which since 1995 has been an independent institution as the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów. In September 2013 it changed its name to the Wilanów Palace Museum.
