differences in the heights

Rysy are one of the most visited peaks of the Tatra Mountains. Entrance from the Polish side is well protected (360 meters chains), however, requires the preparation of tourism and condition. From the entrance to the Tatra National Park by Palenica Białczańska denivelation is 1504 m, and from Morskie Oko 1104 meters. From the "Czarny staw" average slope of the trail is up to 30 degrees. The trail passes through the shaded areas, which causes the temperature drops and the high is much probability of residual patches of snow in the summer. Since the opening of the trail to the Polish Rysy killed there more than 50 people.

Considering that about 11 or 12 hours of climbing to the top was waiting for us we left Krakow before 4am. We were in the parking lot at the Łysa Polana about 5:20 and from there our adventure had began.

According to the weather forecasts possibility of fog in the morning was high, so we were worried about visibility, but we were greeted by beautiful weather in the Tatras, visibility was great and even sun wanted to be our company on the way to the top.

We set off at a very good pace, after a quick passing Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza, a little over an hour later we were by Morskie Oko.

begins with a steep climb up

pause on "Bula pod Rysami"

After passing the Czarny Staw begins steep climb to the top on the stones. On one side we can see lingering snow for this time of summer, the other side high ridges Tatra doing a great impression.
Then we come to the so-called "Bula pod Rysami", where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful views, among other things, a great view of the Czarny Staw and Morskie Oko. A lot of people make here rest a bit before the most strenuous trail from the chains which need to hold tightly to keep from falling down.

I've not heard that Rysy was grown a bit, maybe you're right or maybe it depends on one who measures:)

      Take care,
      Marcin
